The Morning Star Community Development Corporation (MSCDC) is hosting a Community Legal Forum on Saturday, December 9th from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Morningstar Community Christian Center, 1009 Chandler Avenue in Linden, New Jersey.
The forum will provide residents with an opportunity to get assistance, advice, and support on legal issues that confront citizens and our community on a daily basis.
The forum will feature a panel of experienced attorneys who will discuss a wide range of legal topics, including landlord-tenant law, real estate law, criminal law, family law, and personal injury law.
Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive personalized advice from the panel of experienced attorneys, who will be on hand to answer questions and provide legal advice.
Attorneys expected to participate in the forum include:
- Moderator: Desha Jackson
- Landlord Tenant: Maury Winkler
- Real Estate: Steve Hockaday
- Criminal Law: Dennis Hickerson-Breedon
- Family Law: Lesley Adams
- Personal Injury: Clarence Barry-Austin
Lunch will be served at the event, which is sponsored by Cooper’s Sandwiches in Linden.
“We are committed to providing our residents with the resources they need to address legal issues that may be affecting their lives,” said MSCDC program director Garret Smith. “This forum is an opportunity for residents to get free legal advice from experienced attorneys.”
“We are pleased to offer this forum as a resource for our community,” said Dr. Thurman Evans, pastor at Morning Star Church as well as chairman and executive director of MSCDC. “We believe that everyone should have access to legal information and representation, regardless of their income or background.”
