Man injured in kiosk fire near Lincoln Memorial

DC Fire and EMS reported at about 7:15 a.m. on social media that they were at Lincoln Memorial Circle NW after a propane tank caused a small concession kiosk to catch fire.

A man who was injured after the kiosk near the Lincoln Memorial burst into flames on Thursday morning was flown for treatment of serious, but non-life-threatening injuries by a U.S. Park Police helicopter.

He is expected to survive. U.S. Park Police said the victim is associated with the kiosk.

The fire has been extinguished, officials said. The bulk of the fire was put out by 7:22 a.m. and firefighters remained on scene to continue to wet down the kiosk.
