Two men were killed in a Trenton parking lot on Wednesday night and authorities said the fatal shooting is currently under investigation by the Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police Department.

The incident occurred on the night of May 1, 2024, around 7:45 p.m. Police responded to a ShotSpotter activation indicating multiple rounds fired in the area of Prospect Street and Pennington Avenue. Upon arrival, law enforcement found two male victims at the scene.

Jerome Francis, 43, of Hamilton,

A spokesperson for Onofri said the second victim, Jerome Francis, 43, of Hamilton, was located in the driver’s seat of a blue Infiniti QX60 within the same parking lot, with gunshot wounds to the chest.

The vehicle displayed noticeable front-end damage and had several airbags deployed. Investigators recovered three handguns, two cell phones, and multiple shell casings from the scene.

Both Fagan and Francis were transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead shortly after their arrival.
