Trump is replacing the American way of life with fear, injustice, poverty, and oppression

By James J. Devine

And it is coming. One can feel it, a cold dread in the bones of this city.

The American way of life is being replaced with fear, injustice, poverty, and oppression. Violence cannot be far behind.

Tyrant Donald Trump and incompetent Pete Hegseth have sent soldiers into the streets of the District of Columbia, not to protect, but to occupy. These armed soldiers patrol neighborhoods where they are not known, where they are not wanted, where they are feared.

They carry the weight of their lethal weapons and the authority of a President who sees dissent as a personal insult, and citizens as subjects to be managed.

It is a recipe written in blood, and we have read this book before.

It is not a question of if, but when.

A movement will be misread as a threat. A gesture will be seen as a weapon. A voice raised in protest will be silenced by a nervous finger on a trigger.

And on some street, in a city that belongs to all of America, an innocent person will fall.

A son. A daughter. A mother. A father. Someone who believed, perhaps foolishly, that the simple act of existing in their own home, on their own block, was not a capital offense.

And when the blood soaks into the pavement, we will be told it was a tragedy.

We will be told the soldier was afraid. We will be told the citizen was reckless with their own life.

We will be told anything but the truth: that this death was the predictable, logical, inevitable outcome of a policy that treats American citizens as an enemy population.

But the response from the Trump administration will not be to mourn.

It will not be to seek peace. It will not be to question the monstrous machinery they have set in motion.

No.

Their response will be to pour gasoline on the fire because they lied to prevent the disclosure of the Epstein files, and massive distraction has always worked out well for Trump.

They will call the victim a thug. They will imply a history that justifies the execution. They will sanctify the killer with the language of law and order.

They will use the death, this death they themselves orchestrated, as proof that even more force is needed. That the streets must be cleared. That the dissent must be crushed. That the gloves must come off.

They will inflame the violence, and then they will use the carnage they inflamed to justify more bloodshed.

It is their only rhythm. It is their only song.

And the injustice will compound itself.

One death will be a spark, and their response will be a wind, and the whole city will threaten to burn.

They will look upon the flames they started and say, ‘See? We told you they were animals. We need more troops. We need more guns. We need more control.’

They will use a funeral to build a fortress.

They will use a mother’s tears to justify a father’s imprisonment.

They will use our grief as a weapon against us.

This is the new American justice. It is not blind. It sees the target on our backs with perfect, brutal clarity.

And it is not merely coming, it is already here.

The questions vary but one will ask if this can be contained. We have more firearms in the United States than the number of people.

If the MAGA Shaman can see through Trump’s bullshit after the administration refused to release the Epstein files, then people who voted for Trump and against him might join forces to repel the government that silences dissent with bullets.

Mutiny in the ranks could become common, for the soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen, guards, and guardians all pledged an oath to the Constitution, not a lying, murdering tyrant who is in league with Vladimir Putin and Benjamin Netanyahu.

The second civil war is festering and the instigator has no idea what it will entail. Plans are perfect until the first bullet flies, but this gang of incompetent sycophants is not known for having operational security and logistics, so any plans they made are probably imperfect.

The angry Americans are incensed with the two-track justice system where rich people are immune to consequences but the rest of us are fighting a losing battle in court, before the bureaucracy, and throughout a rigged society.

This outrage chose Trump but he is not the aggrieved person who knows how to fix it. He’s merely the one who conned the silent suffering majority.

When they wake up, see that he lied, and view their dead countrymen in streets where liberty once made democracy possible, the mob will turn on Trump’s lapdogs and they may even roll out a guillotine or two.

What Americans need is for someone to put the guns away in holsters, disarm the federal troops deployed against our citizens, return the republic to the elected officials accountable for their jurisdictions.

Donald Trump created the madness,  so he can turn it off. The Congress and the courts  may choose to do their long-abandoned duty.

Military brass, the media, mayors and more have some influence if not nearly as much power.

But if a few million people refuse to live with tyranny, injustice, fear, and intimidation, the violence could be stopped by peaceful protests and labor strikes.

That’s why it makes sense to join DemocratsFor.US today.  We may not have until tomorrow.
