A pair of suspicious men with weapons have been seen at the Metropolitan Campus of Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, according to preliminary and unconfirmed reports.
An alert to student residents said to shelter in place or avoid the area.
Weapons have been confiscated, according to college sources but Teaneck Police said only that there is an ongoing investigation.
New Jersey State Police and officers from several nearby departments have joined in what appears to be a manhunt at the campus.
A pair of State Trooper vehicles sped toward the area with lights flashing and sirens wailing, as well as at least a half dozen other police cars.
A New Jersey State Police helicopter circled the area as troopers, Bergen County sheriff’s officers and police from Teaneck and Hackensack appeared to be searching for two suspects.
The Bergen County Sheriff’s K9 unit was among those engaged in the manhunt.
Authorities are reportedly searching for two individuals who may pose a security threat but additional details are sketchy.

The Lindens are comprised of eight buildings with three co-ed floors of same-gender suites each consisting of three double occupancy rooms housing 58-64 residents per building.
All new freshmen reside in the Lindens with the exception of Global Scholars & Honors Scholars, and L.I.F.E. House members.
