Red Bank RiverCenter is set to host the fifth edition of the Red Bank Classic 5K, an event designed to promote wellness and contribute to the YMCA’s third-grade swim program.
Scheduled for Saturday, June 15, 2024, in downtown Red Bank, the event aims to attract participants of various age groups and fitness levels, with proceeds directed towards enhancing swim safety for local borough youth.
“Promoting community health and wellness has been a focal point of the Red Bank Classic 5K,” said Bob Zuckerman, the executive director of Red Bank RiverCenter, who leads the organization of the event with support from a volunteer committee. “We are committed to not only organizing a dynamic race but also supporting the YMCA’s efforts in providing essential swim education to our local youth.”
Representatives from Red Bank RiverCenter and members of the race committee presented a donation of $10,000 to the Red Bank Family YMCA to support the annual swim program, offering free swim lessons and water safety instruction to all borough third graders before the summer season.
Pam Hearn, the chief development officer of the YMCA of Greater Monmouth County, expressed gratitude for the support, saying, “The Y is grateful to Red Bank RiverCenter, the 5K community of runners, walkers, and volunteers, and local businesses for the tremendous support we receive to help keep borough youth safe in and around water.”

Adult registration will be available at a reduced rate of $35, and the fee for the kids’ run will be $17.
