Two New Jersey men face justice for child sexual abuse crimes

In separate cases that underscore the ongoing battle against child exploitation, two men from Union and Middlesex Counties in New Jersey faced legal consequences for their involvement in heinous acts of child sexual abuse.

Joshua Cremosnik, a 50-year-old resident of Rahway, Union County, received an 80-month prison sentence on February 15, 2024.

The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Julien Xavier Neals in Newark federal court. Cremosnik had previously pleaded guilty to one count of receipt of child pornography.

The charge stemmed from his involvement in receiving videos of child sexual abuse through a publicly available online peer-to-peer (P2P) file-sharing program between April and August 2021.

Law enforcement officers discovered numerous videos and images of child sexual abuse on Cremosnik’s laptop and electronic storage media during a lawful search of his residence. Cremosnik admitted to utilizing the P2P network to solicit and obtain child pornography materials, which he stored on his devices.

Alongside the prison term, Judge Neals imposed a five-year supervised release period and ordered restitution of $208,694.

In a separate incident, Francisco Villafane, a 37-year-old resident of Perth Amboy, Middlesex County, was charged with possession, receipt, and distribution of child pornography.

Villafane’s arrest on February 12, 2024, followed an investigation revealing his communication with a minor victim over text message in 2020.

Despite losing contact, Villafane re-engaged with the victim in late 2023, exchanging sexually explicit content and soliciting videos of the victim engaging in sexual acts.
