The president outlines his achievements, citing his leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic, the passage of legislation to lower healthcare costs, and investments in infrastructure projects.
He aims Trump’s policies, particularly criticizing the former president’s rollback of reproductive rights and promising to codify Roe v. Wade if legislation passes Congress.
Drawing the most important distinction from his Republican opponent, Biden said: “Donald Trump believes the job of the president is to take care of Donald Trump. I believe the job of the president is to fight for you, the American people.”
Biden’s message is clear: despite his age, he asserts that he knows how to effectively govern and deliver tangible benefits to the American people and he positions himself as a champion for women’s rights, climate action, and economic prosperity.
The commercial ends in a lighthearted moment, with Biden responding to an off-screen director’s question about doing another take, Biden replies, “Look, I’m very young, energetic, and handsome. What the hell am I doing this for?”
