Lawrence Hamm, the chairman of the People’s Organization for Progress and a Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate, is calling on New Jersey residents to join an upcoming event, the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr March & Rally for Ceasefire in Gaza & Justice for Palestinians.
The event is scheduled to take place on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at 4:30 pm at the Martin Luther King Statue located at 495 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Blvd in Newark, NJ.
For more information about the event, contact Larry Hamm at 973-801-0001.
The rally holds significant importance as it coincides with the anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s tragic assassination on April 4, 1968. Dr. King was a prominent civil rights leader known for his advocacy of nonviolent activism and social justice causes.
His campaign is struggling to match the resources of warmongering Congressman Andy Kim but Hamm, who has long been an advocate for civil rights and social equality, emphasized the need for a ceasefire in Gaza and justice for Palestinians.
In stark contrast to Kim—a former National Security Council staffer and aide to disgraced former Army General David H. Petraeus—Hamm is concerned about the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, citing the ongoing conflict and its devastating impact on innocent civilians.
“The situation in Gaza demands urgent attention and action. We cannot turn a blind eye to the suffering of the Palestinian people,” stated Lawrence Hamm. “As we commemorate Dr. King’s legacy of peace and justice, it is imperative that we stand in solidarity with those who are oppressed and marginalized.”
The rally aims to raise awareness about the plight of Palestinians and advocate for a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Gaza. It also seeks to promote dialogue and understanding among communities while honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Hamm encouraged individuals from all backgrounds to participate in the march and rally, emphasizing the importance of collective action in addressing global humanitarian issues.
He urged attendees to join hands in calling for an immediate ceasefire and advocating for justice and equality for Palestinians.

Tensions have risen in the United States since the Oct. 7 massacre in which the terrorist group Hamas killed more than 1,000 people in Israel, including at a music festival, and kidnapped others.
A growing number of groups have called for a ceasefire as more children in Gaza die or go hungry, while others have said that any call for a ceasefire should also include the release of hostages.
Despite a longstanding pledge to avoid donations from corporate political action committees, Kim accepted more than $300,000 from them since his first race in 2018. During his Senate run, Kim has received 71 donations — totaling $150,356 — from groups that are considered PACs.
The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr March & Rally for Ceasefire in Gaza & Justice for Palestinians promises to be a powerful gathering of individuals committed to peace, justice, and solidarity with oppressed communities worldwide.
After three U.S. soldiers were killed in Jordan, Hamm said, “I am deeply saddened and troubled by the deaths of these soldiers. I extend my deepest sympathies and condolences to their families.”
The three soldiers killed were Sgt. William Jerome Rivers, Spc. Kennedy Ladon Sanders, and Spc. Breonna Alexsondria Moffet. All three were African-Americans and Rivers was originally from Willingboro, New Jersey.
“Their deaths underscore my concern about U.S. military involvement in the Middle East. The situation there is beginning to feel like Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan all over again,” said Hamm. “I call upon President Biden not to start a war or to engage in actions that will lead to war with Iran. I believe that the majority of Americans do not want to see our country embroiled in another never-ending war with Iran or any other country.”
“I urge the president to exercise caution and restraint and to use the tools of diplomacy to resolve the problems in the region,” said Hamm. “I believe that an escalation of military conflict there will lead to a much wider regional conflagration and possibly world war.”
“As I see it, right now the driver of the escalation of conflict in the region is Israel’s war against Palestinians,” said Hamm. “It is imperative that President Biden use every means necessary to bring about a permanent ceasefire now.”
“This is the key to the de-escalation of conflict in the region,” said Hamm. “The Biden administration should halt all military aid to Israel until this war comes to an end.”
“In addition, the U.S. should end its pause in aid to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) and release all funds earmarked for the agency,” he said.
The pause was initiated in response to Israel’s accusation that 12 UNRWA workers aided Hamas in the October 7th attack.
As a result, the U.S. and other western nations have paused their aid to UNRWA. The United Nations has terminated the contracts of those twelve and is currently investigating the matter. UNRWA has 30,000 employees.
“One of the greatest humanitarian crisis of our times is taking place in Gaza as a result of Israel’s genocidal war there which our nation has helped to fund,” said Hamm.
“In about four months 27,000 Palestinians have been slaughtered, 70,000 have been injured, thousands are buried under rubble of bombed out buildings, and more than one million have been displaced,” Hamm said. “Those who are still living are being starved to death. People are literally eating grass and drinking dirty water. Sickness and disease are spreading.”
“In the face of such apocalyptic conditions how can the Biden administration stop the flow of humanitarian aid. This is a callous disregard for the pain and suffering of the Palestinian people,” said Hamm. “This pause not only holds up current aid. It places future aid in jeopardy. Such actions undermine the standing of the United States in the eyes of the world.”
Hamm is the only contender for the 2024 Democratic nomination who did not support corrupt Senator Bob Menendez in the 2018 primary race.
