The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police Department are investigating a shooting homicide in Trenton.
At approximately 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 4, 2024, Trenton police responded to the 800 block of Stuyvesant Avenue on a shooting in progress.
Responding officers arrived on scene to discover an adult male on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the torso.
He was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
The victim has been identified as Amir Williams, 32, of Trenton.
During the investigation, a second shooting victim, an adult female, arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound to her right hip area.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

A man was also killed in an unrelated mass shooting that injured eight other people in Philadelphia.
After police officers tried to break up a roving pop-up party on the Fourth of July, a person in the passenger seat of an SUV fired multiple gunshots at a group of people gathered in Southwest Philadelphia at around 11:30 p.m.
Police said a 19-year-old man, who was shot once in the face, was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
