Democrats want Biden to end his candidacy

President Joe Biden gives a 'fist bump' to Saudi Arabia Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Despite his promises to treat Saudi Arabia as a "pariah state," President Biden did a U-turn by granting immunity to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and proposing a deal that would obligate the United States to defend the dictator militarily.

Two dozen former Democratic congressmen sent President Joe Biden a letter calling for him to step aside to prevent a GOP takeover of Washington.

The House veterans told Biden they want him to allow for an “open convention” this summer to decide the 2024 ticket.

In their letter, the 24 Democrats — which include former House members and one former senator — make clear that they do not doubt Biden’s “extraordinary record.”

However, they warn that if the president stays on the ballot, it would cost Democrats the White House and decimate their ranks in Congress.

The list included Congressmen Rush Holt and Andy Maguire, of New Jersey. Senator Tom Harkin and Tim Wirth also signed.

Also calling on Biden to step aside are former

Congressmen Chet Atkins, Les AuCoin, Brian Baird, Mike Barnes, Rick Boucher,  John Cavanaugh, Peter DeFazio, Edward Feighan, John Hall, Peter Kostmayer, John LaFalce, Jim McDermott, Paul McHale, Jim Moran, Steve Neal, Rick Nolan, Max Sandlin, Phil Sharp, David Skaggs, and Mike Ward.

New Jersey’s former Rep. Tom Malinowski has called for Biden to end his campaign for a second term but he did not sign the letter, which was written by David Skaggs, who declined to comment, saying it speaks for itself.
