Republican U.S. Senator J.D. Vance is former President Donald Trump’s choice to be his 2024 vice presidential running mate despite the
Rep. Josh McLaurin attended Yale law school with Vance, and the two lived together for a time.
In 2022, McLaurin shared a screenshot of a conversation they had in February of 2016 in which the Ohio Republican called Trump “America’s Hitler.”
Vance was more recently caught thanking the leaders of Project 2025 for their work gearing up a potential second Trump administration to ban abortion and defunding Social Security and Medicare.
Trump has sought to distance himself from the Heritage Foundation presidential planning document that exposes the extreme right-wing agenda the Republicans are likely to pursue because the ideas are repugnant to most Americans.
Still, Vance is not backing away from his desire for a nationwide ban on abortion regardless of whether an unwanted pregnancy is caused by rape or incest and even if it puts a woman’s life in peril.
These extreme positions are offensive to many freedom loving Americans so Trump’s handlers want Vance to keep quiet about it but among the puritanical religious fanatics that are likely to attend GOP rallies, it may prove impossible to contain.
