Vice President Kamala Harris chooses practical competence over political spectacle

Vice President Kamala Harris is the Democratic nominee for president

When Vice President Kamala Harris selected Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate, she exhibited a welcome commitment to practical government competence over the allure of celebrity or financial influence, demonstrating a judicious and focused approach to leadership.

At 60, Walz brings a robust background that includes experience as a former congressman, teacher, and national guardsman.

His selection reflects a decisive shift away from candidates who might be driven more by media appeal or financial backing. Walz’s career highlights a dedication to public service and a track record of meaningful achievements that align with Harris’s emphasis on responsible governance.

Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance made his first campaign stop in Philadelphia as Donald Trump’s running mate just hours before Harris and Walz appeared together in the city known as the Cradle of Liberty.

Walz’s record demonstrates a focused commitment to practical governance over political spectacle. His experience as a national guardsman further enhances his credentials, showcasing his understanding of both national and local challenges.

That did not stop Vance from hurling unfounded criticism at his rival, falsely asserting, “Tim Walz, his record is a joke. He’s been one of the most far-left radicals in the entire United States government at any level.”

Walz has cut taxes with every one of his budgets, he established a nation-leading child tax credit to cut child poverty in Minnesota by up to one-third, and he signed a bipartisan bill to lead to 100% clean electricity while creating good-paying jobs. Walz also established paid leave, ensured paid sick days, banned non-compete agreements, and increased protections for workers in Amazon warehouses, construction sites, hospitals, nursing homes, and public schools.

Known for his ties to gay Silicon Valley immigrant billionaire Peter Theil, Vance is a radical conservative who opposes abortion, same-sex marriage, and gun control.

By the time the self-proclaimed blue-collar hero rose to fame with his 2016 bestseller Hillbilly Elegy, which explained the economic decline of America’s white working class as symptoms of being ignorant, lazy, and shiftless, Vance was already a Yale Law School graduate welcomed into the corporate investment world by his billionaire benefactor.

The now serving as a U.S. Senator, Vance nearly failed out of high school before his grandmother insisted that he “Never be like those fucking losers who think the deck is stacked against them.”

“The statistics tell you that kids like me face a grim future — that if they’re lucky, they’ll manage to avoid welfare; and if they’re unlucky, they’ll die of a heroin overdose,” said Vance, who clearly believes that Americans plagued by poverty, addiction and other problems have only themselves to blame.

His mother got pregnant before she finished high school, careened from man to man, marrying a half-dozen of them, and struggled with drugs, bouncing in and out of rehab, but @JDVance did not let a worthless whore hold him back…

This selection is indicative of Harris’s broader strategy to prioritize effective governance and sensible policy implementation over superficial political considerations.
