None of the Golden Girls are still alive, so we were surprised to learn about Golden Girls: The Laughs Continue, a performance that allows audiences to relive the heartfelt hilarity of the four ladies who never stopped being best friends.
Produced by Murray & Peter Present and Innovation Arts & Entertainment, the stage show brings Blanche, Dorothy, Rose, and Sophia back to life in an entirely new form: unfiltered, in drag, and on an outrageous journey, complete with a special cheesecake.
Tour information is available at GoldenGirlsTour.com.
The production, written by Robert Leleux, known for the campy horror film Big Easy Queens, presents the beloved characters as you’ve never seen them before.
In this comedic continuation of their story, the sassy seniors embark on post-show adventures that are as bold as they are hilarious.
In 2024, Sophia finds herself out on bail after being busted by the DEA for running a drug ring, while Blanche and Rose launch “CreakN,” a hookup app for seniors. Meanwhile, Dorothy tries to keep the group together, despite the chaos around her and her own involvement with a much younger, passionate lover.
Following sold-out performances and rave reviews across the country, the Golden Girls are back and better than ever with a brand-new stage show that’s more exciting than a trip to the Rusty Anchor.
Directed by Eric Swanson, Golden Girls: The Laughs Continue is set to tour more than 60 cities in 2024, including a month-long run in September at Fort Lauderdale’s Amaturo Theater at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.
The show promises a 1 hour and 45-minute performance with one interval, rated for adult audiences (18+), filled with laughs and nostalgia for fans of the iconic sitcom.
The all-male cast includes Ryan Bernier as Dorothy, Vince Kelley as Blanche, Adam Graber as Rose, Christopher Kamm as Sophia, and Tommy Favorite as Stanley/Burt.
With a new spin on the familiar Golden Girls dynamic, the production will appeal to both long-time fans and newcomers alike, offering a modern twist on the timeless humor and friendship that made the original series a cultural phenomenon.
