Authorities probe apparent firebombing at Elizabeth apartment

At approximately 1:00 a.m. on Sept. 28th, 2024, firefighters responded to 530 Vine St. in Elizabeth where they quickly managed to extinguish the flames and found evidence of foul play.

Police said that the blaze was ignited by molotov cocktails that were apparently thrown at a second floor corner apartment.

Scorch marks were visible on the brick exterior of the apartment building in the typically peaceful and family-friendly Elmora neighborhood.

The flames were confined to one side of the apartment building, and the attack did not cause extensive damage to the property or result in any reported injuries.

A state fire marshal and several local investigative authorities were present at the scene overnight.

The investigators declined to answer questions while they were photographing the scene and collecting possible evidence.
