Man arrested for alleged burglary spree at Dunkin’ locations across four counties

A 24-year-old Newark man has been arrested in connection with a series of burglaries at 15 Dunkin’ locations across four New Jersey counties.

Enajaim E. Bowman turned himself in to authorities on February 25, 2025, following a weeks-long investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, the Hackensack Police Department, and other local law enforcement agencies.

According to law enforcement officials, the burglaries resulted in over $18,000 in stolen cash and $10,000 in property damage.

Bowman faces 14 counts of third-degree burglary, one count of attempted burglary, as well as charges for theft and criminal mischief.

The incidents occurred between December 2024 and January 2025, targeting Dunkin’ locations in Bergen, Middlesex, Morris, and Union counties.

Surveillance footage allegedly showed Bowman prying open locked doors and windows to gain entry. Once inside, he reportedly targeted cash registers, safes, and managers’ offices, stealing cash, gift cards, and causing significant property damage.

According to police reports, Bowman successfully burglarized 14 locations and attempted to break into a 15th, where he was unsuccessful.

The total losses from the burglaries amounted to $18,267.16 in cash, $140 in Dunkin’ gift cards, and approximately $10,000 in damages to the properties.

The investigation, led by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Crime Reduction Unit and the Bergen County Crime Reduction Task Force, linked Bowman to the following incidents:

• January 19, 2025, 2:05 a.m., Dunkin Donuts, 636 Westwood Avenue, River Vale, NJ; $858 stolen; $1,000 damage.
• December 13, 2024, 12:56 a.m., Dunkin Donuts, 691 US-1, Edison, NJ; $500 damage.
• December 13, 2024, 1:09 a.m., Dunkin Donuts, 490 US-1, Edison, NJ; $750 stolen; $500
  damage.
• December 13, 2024, 1:41 a.m., Dunkin Donuts, 1790 Lincoln Highway, Edison, NJ; $2,500
  stolen; $600 damage.
• December 13, 2024, 2:11 a.m., Dunkin Donuts, 1704 Woodbridge Avenue, Edison, NJ;
  $1,525 stolen; $500 damage.
• December 21, 2024, 1:36 a.m., Dunkin Donuts, 380 Essex Street, Lodi, NJ; $1,990.44
  stolen.
• December 21, 2024, 1:59 a.m., Dunkin Donuts, 150 Passaic Street, Hackensack, NJ; $800
  stolen, $140 in gift cards; $1,350 damage.
• December 21, 2024, 3:15 a.m., Dunkin Donuts, 25 Hackensack Avenue, Hackensack, NJ;
  $1,770 stolen.
• December 21, 2024, 3:41 a.m., Dunkin Donuts, 137 Route 17 South, Paramus, NJ;
  $2,988.07 stolen.
• January 17, 2025, 1:00 a.m., Dunkin Donuts, 10 Ashwood Avenue, Summit, NJ; $2,200
  damage.
• January 17, 2025, 2:22 a.m., Dunkin Donuts, 118 Main Street, Chatham, NJ; $795 stolen;
  $2,750 damage.
• January 17, 2025, 3:00 a.m., Dunkin Donuts, 176 Columbia Turnpike, Florham Park, NJ;
  $700 stolen; $600 damage.
• January 17, 2025, 3:45 a.m., Dunkin Donuts, 329 Route 10 East, East Hanover, NJ;
  $1,985.65 stolen.
• January 19, 2025, 1:14 a.m., Dunkin Donuts, 60 Broadway, Hillsdale, NJ; $1,465 stolen.
• January 19, 2025, 1:43 a.m., Dunkin Donuts, 130 Kinderkamack Road, Emerson, NJ;
  attempted burglary, which was unsuccessful.

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella emphasized that the charges against Bowman are accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Musella also acknowledged the collaborative efforts of multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Middlesex, Morris, and Union County Prosecutor’s Offices, as well as local police departments, in bringing the case to a resolution.

Bowman was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his first court appearance. The case highlights the effectiveness of multi-jurisdictional cooperation in addressing complex criminal patterns across county lines.
