Woman who tried to hire Tinder date to kill ex-boyfriend & his daughter failed until trial

A 26-year-old Runnemede woman will remain jailed pending trial after prosecutors detailed allegations that she attempted to hire a man she met on the dating app Tinder to kill her ex-boyfriend, a Philadelphia police officer, and his teenage daughter.

Jaclyn Diiorio appeared in Camden County Superior Court on April 11, 2025, where a judge ruled her detention necessary, citing concerns for public safety.

The case stems from an investigation launched after a confidential informant alerted authorities on April 3, 2025, about Diiorio’s alleged plans.

According to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, Diiorio agreed to pay the informant $12,000 to carry out the killings, providing $500 as an initial payment during a meeting on April 4 in Gloucester Township.

She was subsequently arrested by the Gloucester Township Police Department Special Response Team and found in possession of suspected alprazolam pills, a controlled substance.

Prosecutors presented evidence during the detention hearing, including digital messages and recorded conversations in which Diiorio allegedly confirmed her intent to proceed with the plot.

Assistant Prosecutor David Deitz argued that Diiorio posed a significant danger, noting that she specifically targeted the officer’s 19-year-old daughter, believing her death would draw less scrutiny than that of a law enforcement officer.

Diiorio’s attorney, Robert Gamburg, contested the state’s claims, asserting that his client had been manipulated into dropping a prior restraining order against the officer and had no criminal history. He also questioned the informant’s credibility, stating that the individual had interacted with Diiorio unsupervised for days before reporting the alleged scheme.

Despite these arguments, Judge Yolanda Rodriguez determined that no conditions of release could adequately ensure community safety, ordering Diiorio to be held until trial.

Court documents reveal that Diiorio and the officer had a prior relationship, having met when she worked as his barber. Their relationship ended in early March 2025, and authorities noted past legal disputes, including mutual restraining orders filed in 2024. The officer also reported an earlier incident in which his home was vandalized with a Molotov cocktail in September 2022, though no charges were filed in connection with that case.

Diiorio faces two counts of first-degree attempted murder, one count of conspiracy to commit murder, and a drug possession charge. Her next court appearance is scheduled for June. The investigation was conducted by the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service.

Authorities encourage anyone with additional information to contact Detective Ryan Durham at (856) 225-5127 or submit tips anonymously via the Camden County tip line. As with all criminal cases, Diiorio is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
