One would be correct in calling The Washington Free Beacon a right-wing rag, but I fail to see what makes a story preposterous when it is exposing lies about the military record of Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mikie Sherrill.
The conservative, self-described Blue Dog Democrat is exploiting her military service as a key part of her campaign, which features a helicopter in the logo.
The governor has access to a taxpayer-funded NJ state police helicopter, but Phil Murphy hardly uses it following the firestorm of criticism Chris Christie endured before he decided that the Republican Party would reimburse the state for his political flights.
Sherrill’s campaign has repeatedly inflated her rank in the United States Navy in more than 20 fundraising emails. The Washington Free Beacon can reveal the truth even if that is not a customary practice for the right-wing rag.
If she cannot be trusted to accurately represent her own military record, voters may rightly wonder what else Sherrill’s willing to lie about. Will she claimed to be fighting back against Donald Trump and Elon Musk? Let her point to one victory if she’s so tough!
Will she reveal that her husband Jason Hedberg is a bankster — UBS’s global head of equity derivatives sales — of just say he’s a fellow Naval Academy graduate?
Will she acknowledge that ‘making New Jersey a more affordable place for families’ is not going to result by ‘fighting for tax relief’ but by making the super wealthy pay their fair share? No, she is lying about that, too.
Although, come to think of it, Mikie Sherrill supported Gold Bar Bob Menendez, who was her running mate in 2018, and Sherrill is taking donations from right-wing millionaires and billionaires, who are the real enemy of the working-class people in this country.
What is truly preposterous is that InsiderNJ and the website run by the Republican dirty trickster who shut down the George Washington Bridge are primary sources of political news in New Jersey. InsiderNJ is published by John FX Graham, CEO of Fairview Insurance and a Democratic National Committee member who supported a Republican mayoral candidate in Parsippany.
It’s 89 seconds to midnight and our political system is broken, so Americans must rise to the responsibility of citizenship! Pretending that anyone who is a part of the political establishment in Washington deserves to be promoted is also preposterous.
