A homicide investigation is underway after a chaotic night at the Long Branch boardwalk, where crowds fled following reports of gunfire during a concert at Pier Village.
Social media posts and surveillance video showed people fleeing and first responders aiding someone on the beach.
Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago has confirmed that a homicide occurred last night in the beachside city in Monmouth County.

A portion of the boardwalk remains closed and sealed off with police tape this morning as the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Bureau and the Long Branch Police Department are investigating.
