The phones lit up like a Christmas tree on fire. “I feel betrayed,” one caller rasped into the mic. “What about justice for them girls?” shouted another.
All week, the conservative airwaves crackled with a sound nobody expected: Trump’s own base sharpening the knives for him in the wake of his betrayal.
For ten years, these folks screamed about Obama’s birth certificate, shrieked about immigrant caravans, howled about deep state pedophile rings.
Now? They got one name on their lips: Donald J. Trump. And the reason stinks worse than a Jersey landfill in August.
Elon Musk declared that this would happen because Trump’s name is on list list, but that’s never been a secret.
The Broken Promise:
Remember ol’ Jeff Epstein? The creep with the private island and the underage girls? Trump swore up and down he’d rip the lid off that cesspool. “I’ll release EVERYTHING!” he bellowed.
The Maga faithful salivated – finally, proof the elites were monsters!
Then last week, his Justice Department drops a bombshell: No client list. No blackmail evidence. Nothing to see here. Just a lousy memo callin’ Epstein a lone wolf.
The Revolt:
You could hear the gears grinding to a halt in Maga-land.
Tucker Carlson roared. Laura Loomer shrieked. Steve Bannon thundered about “treason.”
Even Mike Pence, that human fainting couch, piped up: “Release the files!”
House Speaker Mike Johnson, Trump’s lapdog, broke ranks. Supporters burned their red caps in the street.
Why the fury? Simple. Trump spent years feeding them this poison:
- “Epstein was MURDERED!”
- “The client list will bring down the elites!”
- “I’m your ONLY savior!”
He made them believe he’d be the dragon-slayer. Instead, he pulled the fire alarm and said “False alarm, folks! Go home!”
The Stench of Hypocrisy:
It gets uglier. While Trump screams “HOAX!” at the Wall Street Journal for reporting he sent Epstein a sketch of a naked woman back in ’03 (“Happy Birthday—may every day be another wonderful secret!”), folks remember HIS OWN WORDS:
- “I’ve known Jeff for 15 years. Terrific guy… likes beautiful women on the younger side.” (NY Mag, 2002)
They see the dead girl in Florida Epstein dodged federal charges for molesting in ’06. They see Ghislaine Maxwell rotting in jail while the big fish swim free. They see Trump’s lawyers burying a lawsuit from a 13-year-old accusing HIM back in ’16.
The Tiger Swallows the Rider:
Trump panicked. He called his supporters “WEAKLINGS” for believing the “radical left hoax.”
He begged them to stop attacking his Attorney General, Pam Bondi (who promised a “truckload” of Epstein files, then delivered a Post-It note).
He even tried tossing crumbs – promising to ask a court for grand jury testimony (knowing it’s sealed tighter than Epstein’s cell was supposed to be).
Too late. The beast he created is hungry. QAnon fanatics who saw Trump as their messiah now whisper he’s part of the cabal. “Birther” truthers who propelled him to fame smell the same stench of cover-up.
The Beautiful Irony:
Charlie Sykes nailed it: “He’s being eaten by the very sort of conspiracy theory that propelled him into office… The ghost of Jeffrey Epstein is haunting Trump’s presidency.”
Trump thought he could ride the tiger of paranoia forever. He fed it lies about stolen elections, Satanic Democrats, deep state assassins. Now the tiger’s turned. It doesn’t care about his tax cuts or his bombings in Iran.
It wants the ONE THING he promised and failed to deliver: BLOOD FROM THE ELITES.
And since he won’t give it to them? They’ll settle for his.
Polls show 69% of Americans think the government is hiding Epstein’s secrets. Trump’s base isn’t just mad – they’re disillusioned.
As former GOP Congressman Joe Walsh put it: “If they’re utterly disillusioned… they’re going to check out.”
Democrats? They’re watching, mouths agape.
Congressman Ro Khanna tried forcing the files’ release, but Republicans blocked it.
Steve Schmidt (no liberal) fumes they’re too “weak” to twist the knife: “This is a moment where Trump is weak, he’s perturbed, he’s disturbed – and what you do is you hit him.”
But the real damage is done. The man who built an empire on conspiracy theories is drowning in his own.
Will the faithful who chanted “LOCK HER UP!” now mutter “LOCK HIM UP?”
The angry MAGAts are calling into AM radio, burning hats, and wondering if their perceived savior was just another snake in the grass.
The tiger’s got him by the leg. And it ain’t lettin’ go.
