While millions of Americans suffer, two faces of the same corrupt system—Cory Booker and Donald Trump—have engineered a fraudulent, partisan shouting match designed to achieve one thing: absolutely nothing.
Their performance is a masterclass in political theater, but Americans won’t find this entertainment worth the price when insurance premiums skyrocket.
Trump, the blustering oligarch, screams “socialism!” and “repeal!” to fuel the rage of his base. Booker, the cautious corporatist, offers sympathetic murmurs and empty gestures to placate the left.
Together, they sustain a vicious, useless cycle of blame and fuming that serves a single, vile purpose: to protect the profitable misery of the status quo.
This is not a debate. It is a distraction. A racket.
While they point fingers and cable news amplifies their “clash,” the real enemy goes unchallenged: a for-profit healthcare system that is nothing more than legalized bribery and corporate welfare.
As authentic advocate Lisa McCormick rightly declares, the Affordable Care Act—celebrated by this political class—is a taxpayer-subsidized guarantee for private insurance companies.
“It is a monument to corruption, where insurers have every incentive to take your money and deny you care,” said McCormick. “Meanwhile, 100 million Americans uninsured or underinsured, lives ruined by medical debt, and a nation held hostage.”
Booker’s name may be on Medicare for All legislation, but his actions reveal the cowardice of the Democratic establishment.
It is a cosmetic co-sponsorship, a fig leaf to hide his allegiance to the same donor class that profits from this human suffering. He has done nothing to advance it, because his party is just as invested in the endless, profitable debate as the Republicans are.
Meanwhile, McCormick names the true disease: the systemic bribery that funds both parties, the Trickle-Down Reaganomics that looted the nation, and the obscene, infinite wealth accumulation that makes a mockery of democracy.
Her prescription—outlawing bribery, reversing economic theft, capping personal wealth at $100 million, and fighting for a true, improved Medicare for All—is the only agenda that threatens the plutocrats’ grift.
“The Booker-Trump spectacle is a deliberate fraud,” said McCormick. “They are not opponents; they are co-conspirators in a duopoly of distraction, ensuring the real solutions—the ones that would end their donors’ profiteering—are forever shouted down in a manufactured war of words.”
Noting that Booker has endorsed Republicans and held a big money fundraiser in Trump Tower, McCormick says the Senator’s liberal reputation is a political fiction.
“The time for their partisan theater is over. The choice is no longer between a Democrat who whispers reform and a Republican who screams reaction” said McCormick. “The choice is between this entire corrupt establishment and the people. It’s time to end the bribery, end the greed, and seize the healthcare system we have already paid for.”
The only side to take is the side of the people, against the whole damned racket, but at least Lisa McCormick is on your side.
