Gloucester County woman charged with manslaughter after death of her boyfriend

A 38-year-old woman has been charged with manslaughter in the fatal shooting of her boyfriend inside a parked vehicle Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.

Amelia G. Wilmore-Nozil, of Glassboro, was charged with second-degree manslaughter and second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon in the death of 35-year-old Domincio Fuhrtz, of Winslow Township, according to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and Winslow Township Police Department.

Officers responded to Bromley Court around 2 p.m. Wednesday and found Fuhrtz inside a parked vehicle with a gunshot wound, authorities said. He was transported to Cooper University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 3 p.m.

Wilmore-Nozil told investigators that she and Fuhrtz were seated inside the vehicle when a struggle for her firearm ensued, officials said. The firearm discharged during the struggle, striking Fuhrtz.

Wilmore-Nozil is registered to vote in Gloucester County and has no political party affiliation.

The investigation remains ongoing, authorities said.
