Shomrim & Lakewood Police seek public’s help after attempted abduction

A search is underway for a suspect following a reported attempted abduction in Lakewood on Thursday evening.

The Lakewood Civilian Safety Watch (LCSW), also known as Shomrim, responded to the area of Forest Park Circle around 7:30 pm after receiving reports of the incident. Details about the victim and the exact nature of the attempted abduction are limited at this time.

Fortunately, the intended victim was able to escape unharmed.

Shomrim, along with the Lakewood Police Department and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, are actively searching for the suspect.

Shomrim is asking the public for help from anyone with surveillance cameras in the vicinity of Forest Park Circle on Thursday evening. Residents may contact Shomrim immediately at 732-367-1212.

Any information that may help identify the suspect is crucial to the investigation.
