Meet union leader and education professional Lisa Palin

The Second Ward candidate is endorsed by the Regular Union County Democratic Organization & Roselle Democratic Committee

Lisa Palin, a seasoned Information Technology Technician with a 27-year career in the Roselle public school system, is a candidate for the Roselle Borough Council.

Palin, who served as president of the Union County Education Association from 2014 to 2022, plans to focus on redevelopment, quality of life improvements, and better tax management.

Palin’s leadership and advocacy experience in education make her a compelling candidate. Her initiatives in fostering educator involvement and organizing efforts have been notable during her tenure, ensuring Union County’s prominence in education advocacy.

Palin holds a Computer Science certification from the New Jersey Department of Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Southern New Hampshire University.

She aims to enhance community connectivity through regular town hall meetings, increased transparency, and active collaboration with local organizations.

To facilitate a stronger local economy, Palin intends to focus on supporting small businesses, attracting new investments, and creating job opportunities.

She advocates for improved public services, including waste management, public safety, and recreational facilities.

Palin was recently accepted into the Emerge New Jersey Class of 2024, an organization that trains Democratic women to run for office.

“I’m thrilled to learn skills that will make me a better advocate for my community,” said Palin.

Her campaign addresses Roselle’s needs with a strong emphasis on inclusivity and proactive problem-solving.

Former Councilwoman Hazel Walker endorsed her, citing Palin’s integrity and dedication to the community.

“I know Lisa Palin very well, she went to my church and she’s been with the Board of Education,” said former Councilwoman Hazel Walker. “She’s a good person.”

Palin’s candidacy is positioned to bring a wealth of experience to the Roselle Borough Council.

As Treasurer of the Roselle Democratic Party and UCEA president, Palin not only labored to elect progressive leaders but she has also served on the front lines in many battles to stop Republicans.
